This Torah shield bears the name of Naftali Hirsch Segal, whose descent from Israelite priests is denoted by his last name as well as by the Levite pitcher and basin. The other name, Zir(ele) daughter of (?) Raphael appears with the astrological sign for Gemini, possibly the time of her birthday.
