Rachel's tomb with its characteristic dome at one end of the low building is set within a deep landscape. The image is bordered by leafy motifs on three sides. The fourth bears the Hebrew inscription "A voice is heard in Ramah... Rachel weeping for her children" (Jeremiah 31:15.) A large border of hexagrams enclosing the Hebrew word "Zion" follows; red and green stripes close the composition. On the bottom border are the words "Marvadiah, Jerusalem." Marvadiah was the name of the first carpet workshop in the Bezalel School. It was established in 1920 and closed in 1931.
