Shenfeld received a degree in industrial engineering in Saõ Paulo, and after moving to Israel in 1978 combined decorative arts training at the Bezalel Academy with engineering studies. By 1983, he had decided to abandon his engineering career and devote himself to design and silversmithing. This piece, reflecting his industrial background, is a traveling Hanukkah lamp and Sabbath light. It can be arranged in a variety of ways to display the eight depressions for the Hanukkah lights, or two for the Sabbath.
