Sending New Year greetings is an old Jewish custom. With the rise of modern manufacturing in the late 19th and early 20th century, greeting cards were produced commercially. Reminiscent of Victorian greeting cards, this example features a flower-filled boat as a backdrop for Aaron, the High Priest. The card is inscribed in Hebrew and English with the phrase "Happy New Year."
