A devoted Yiddishist, Louis Lozowick employed the Hebrew alphabet as part of his abstract designs. He often used mechanical forms, towers, smokestacks, and skyscrapers in his art as symbols for the promise of industrial America. Here he combines these mechanical forms with musical allusions.
