Ghostly images of an antique sailing vessel and a world map are obvious symbols in Borkovsky's work of wandering and displacement. By focusing on the newly powerful Pacific Rim - the political and economic centers replacing former European Colonial Empires - the picture maps the distances traveled in the voyage of Western history. The "old-world" craftsmanship employed in this delicately executed icon of a New World Order adds an ironic sense of romanticism and nostalgia.
