Designers Helena Czernek and Aleksander Prugar of Mi Polin claim to be the first to create contemporary Judaica in Poland since the end of World War II. They have produced several types of mezuzah cases and a Hanukkah lamp. The Braille Mezuzah case has a completely modern design and its concept developed out of the act of touching the mezuzah that observant Jews typically perform upon entering or leaving a home or building. The raised bumps are braille for Shaddai, one of the names of God- the Almighty. For the sighted, the letters may be difficult to see and to understand, but for the visually impaired, they are crystal clear.
