Half of this inscription, including the donor's name is in the British Library. This portion reads: "[I will bow down] toward Your holy Sanctuary in awe of You. [Psalm 5:8] And its arched room, beams, stones and their fabrication from the funds of the elder... [Obadiah ben Japhet, Abu 'l-Ma'âlî]. May he merit to live in the grace of God and to visit his Sanctuary, all of Israel being included in the blessing, Amen Selah." A newly discovered trial inscription, painted on the reverse, is similar in content.
