Aftermath II, the artist's response to the tragic events of September 11, 2001, is intended to be displayed standing upright in an accordion manner. Eight narrow vertical panels of paper are connected with Tyvek hinges allowing the work to fold. It can be folded up into an envelope for storage. The panels are decorated with curved, circular, and elliptical forms in pale green, burnt orange, and yellow, as well as printed texts from Sir Isaac Newton's First Law of Motion and the biblical story of Jacob's dream. The artist used methods such as stenciling, printing, collage and hand illustration, as well as wood relief printing, to create the work. The front and back sides of each panel are decorated with similar designs.
