The fine quality of the needlepoint suggests an early date, close to that of the binder by Rikah Polacco (1988-21). A three-dimensional effect is achieved through the raised metallic threads at the center of each serrated quatrefoil. Abstract motifs like those on this mantle also appear on needlepoint Torah curtains, mantles, and binders in various communal collections.
