This dedication plaque, called a Shaddai is unique to the Greek Jewish Community. It would have hung in the synagogue, possibly on the Torah ark curtain. The plaque was donated in 1919 by congregants in Ioannina, Greece to a transplanted Greek synagogue in New York City along with a Torah scroll, Torah ark curtain and finials.
