The Hebrew inscription indicates that the piece was donated by a Burial Society Talmud Torah during Shavuot of 1815, and rededicated in 1919/20 by members of the Katz and Segal families. The medusa heads on the column bases and the laurel wreath show the influence of neo-classicism.
