This cushion cover is one of a set of two. It is extraordinary for its depiction of the first building of the Hebrew University, established in 1925. The titulus below reads The University in Jerusalem. The matching pillow bears the standard image of Rachel's Tomb, a squat domed building with a tall tree nearby. This depiction is noteworthy for its bright colors, such as the yellow and white dome. It is labeled below The Tomb of our Mother Rachel. The parallelism established between a traditional holy site and the first university in the Land of Israel reflects the content of the dedicatory ceremonies held in 1925.
