This outer robe has a low-cut bodice joined by metal clasps, and is nearly identical in form to a robe from Alkhaltsikh, Georgia, dated to the late 19th to the begining of the 20th century. Both robes have long sleeves with multiple buttons that were opened to the elbow in Ottoman style and are formed of Ottoman silks that was probably imported by the Jews of Akhaltsikh who had commercial ties with the Empire.
