This urn was presented as a wedding gift. The Hebrew inscription reads: "On the day of his wedding, the 13th of Elul and on the day of his heart's rejoicing/ the sign of Virgo/ " The zodiac sign, for the date of the wedding, Virgo, is depicted on one side. On the otherside the representation of the blessing priestly hands and the pitcher under the initials of the bride and groom indicates the union of Cohen and Levite families.
