Born in Tel Aviv, in 1957, Rovner studied cinema, television, and philosophy at Tel Aviv University. In 1985, She received her BFA in photography and art at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. In 1978, while still in college, Rovner cofounded the Camera Obscura School of Art, an educational platform for photography and cinema. She lives and works in New York and Israel.
